Casablanca, known in Spanish as the "White House", has long been anchored in the Western imagination as a romantic location. Most travelers associate Casablanca with tales of the Marrakech Express and, of course, the eponymous film "Casablanca". However, the reality of this fast-paced Moroccan city is quite different. It would be impossible for Casablanca to match the romantic, even adventurous, connotations we attribute to it. Nevertheless, the city is quite dynamic, with incessant traffic and an urban atmosphere. Despite its shortcomings, Casablanca offers some of Morocco's finest international restaurants, as well as a glimpse of modern Morocco for those who live and work here. As the country's leading shopping center, the atmosphere is resolutely urban.
